METRO ISTANBUL M5 Line – Ümraniye Maintenance Workshop DEMYKS Jack Lifting Systems

At the M5 (Üsküdar–Sancaktepe/Samandıra) maintenance workshop located within the Behiç Erkin Rail Systems Campus in Ümraniye, DEMYKS-branded train lifting systems were implemented turnkey by BM Makina — including installation and commissioning — for the periodic and heavy maintenance of trains. Two main infrastructures work together in the project: the mobile jack system and the underfloor jack system. On the mobile side, 24 jacks of 10-tonne capacity offer flexible positioning inside the workshop; on the underfloor line, 12 × 20-tonne “bogie jacks” and 24 × 10-tonne “body jacks” work synchronously to lift 6-car train sets completely and safely.

DEMYKS’ electro-mechanical drive, trapezoidal-screw and safety-nut design combines the advantages of precise simultaneous lifting, load security and low maintenance cost. Within the project, BM Makina teams undertook the supply, installation, commissioning, calibration, training and spare-parts/service processes, giving the workshop a fast and safe maintenance infrastructure. Completed in 2018–2019, the application meets the garage and overhaul needs of the M5 vehicles with high efficiency.
