ADY (Azerbaijan Railways) – DEMYKS Locomotive Lifting and Maintenance Systems

BM Makina’s DEMYKS-branded lifting and maintenance solutions were commissioned at the new railway locomotive maintenance depots built in Baku (Biləcəri) and Ganja. The aim of the project is to carry out the scheduled/breakdown maintenance of 50 AC electric locomotives supplied by Alstom safely, quickly and to standard.

The mobile column-type locomotive jacks used in the railway maintenance area work synchronously via a central control panel, lifting the four corners of the locomotive simultaneously with millimetre precision. For safety, they include mechanical locking, emergency stop and synchronization monitoring. The supporting bogie lowering/transfer platforms, turntables and support stands speed up in-workshop logistics; with on-rail and on-floor mobility, they enable safe transfer of bogies between tracks.

BM Makina undertook the design–manufacturing–shipment–installation–calibration–training steps end to end, delivering the systems ready for operation with commissioning in Biləcəri in 2021 and Ganja in 2022. As part of the integration, power and supply lines were arranged, and safety and continuity were provided together with remote-controlled/semi-automated operating scenarios. As a result, ADY increased maintenance efficiency and reduced locomotive out-of-service times.
