Asyaport Container Port – eRTG Electrification Project

At the Asyaport Container Port established in Tekirdağ Barbaros, BM Makina undertook the design, manufacturing and installation of the power transmission infrastructure enabling electric RTG (eRTG) cranes to operate continuously and safely.

Within the project, a 19.5 km VAHLE insulated conductor rail line for each RTG runway in the container yard, and the 2.6 km steel-construction systems carrying these lines, were engineered and installed on site by the BM Makina Group.

Thanks to the use of electric RTG systems, fuel consumption and exhaust emissions at the port were significantly reduced, while savings of up to 70% were achieved in maintenance costs. With the diesel engines out of operation, the noise level of the RTG cranes also dropped, creating a more comfortable working environment on site.

By managing end to end the route and static design, steel-construction manufacturing, installation of VAHLE conductor rail systems and electrical integration, BM Makina realized the reliable power infrastructure of Asyaport’s eRTG operations.

This project contributes to Asyaport’s “green port” vision while standing as a strong reference demonstrating BM Makina’s engineering competence in eRTG power transmission solutions.
