Cable reels wind and unwind the cable that follows a moving machine, keeping it under controlled tension and protecting it from damage.
The VAHLE range covers two drive principles. Motor-driven cable reels suit long travel distances, heavy cable cross-sections and higher speeds; the drive keeps tension constant over the whole run. Spring-driven cable reels need no power supply and are the economical answer for short and medium travel.
Power and data are transmitted through a slip ring assembly while the drum rotates. BM Makina Group also manufactures its own KATO reels and can compare both options for your application.
