VAHLE VCSX – Modular Multi-Axis Conveyor Control Systems
Electrified monorail systems offer industry-independent solutions that can be used for a wide range of handling tasks in production and logistics processes. They enable complex handling lines with line-branching and merging elements (such as switches), vertical transfer units, lifting stations or cranes.
The VAHLE VCSX control series is an excellent solution for such applications thanks to its modular, configurable system architecture. Different housing sizes, power classes, data communication types, encoder support and I/O connection options are combined so the system can be flexibly adapted to the requirements of every application.
Backed by VAHLE’s many years of industry experience, industry-specific standard configurations have been developed, providing both suitable system designs and short delivery times. The modular concept also allows easy retrofit and maximum compatibility with existing systems — a major advantage especially in full system modernization projects.
Used together with the VCS-SMG-SAFE safe drive control system, even complex, safety-focused applications can be solved quickly and efficiently. Data transmission with the fixed plant PLC is carried out via the PROFINET / PROFIsafe protocol over the Slotted Microwave Guide. A Rail Bus (PCB) communication option is also supported, further increasing the efficiency and flexibility of the control system.
The integrated display clearly shows status and operating information, and an infrared (IR) remote control can be used for installation and simple diagnostics. Used together with VAHLE Power Transmission, Positioning and Data Communication Systems modules, the VCSX control system is offered as a fully integrated system solution.
VCSX Modular Control Systems — VCX Rail Bus Communication
The new-generation VCSX Rail Bus communication solution is a functionally and performance-optimized technology that complements VAHLE’s Vehicle Control Systems portfolio, especially in logistics applications. This structure lets drive axes, sensors and safety functions be scaled modularly for each application.
Easy operation is provided by a PLC function block and an integrated Rail Bus module. A transparent function structure requiring no intermediate head control, together with an advanced topology, delivers maximum performance. Support for numerous digital inputs and outputs lets the system operate with high flexibility. Different housing sizes and application-specific enclosure options suit any installation environment, and the standardized component structure greatly simplifies maintenance and spare-parts management.
