VAHLE VCS1 Control Systems
VCS1 – Smart Conveyor Control Systems
Today, almost no production line in the automotive industry can operate without automated handling systems. Electrified monorail systems are proven, reliable handling solutions in production, assembly and material flow, making them an ideal application area for intralogistics and automotive production lines. To perform their tasks with positional accuracy, these systems need a reliable control system.
VAHLE VCS1 Control Systems meet all the requirements for connection and motion control in handling technology. Data transmission between the fixed and moving sides can be provided by different methods depending on the application:
- Half-wave communication
- Pulse Code Modulation (PCM)
- Rail Bus
With a power class up to 1.5 kW, the VCS1 can be used in almost any application thanks to its different interface options, and it is equipped with numerous functions for positioning and distance control. VAHLE’s own function libraries allow easy integration of the VCS1 into existing plant PLC systems, so process control and diagnostic data can be transmitted with ease.
Drive parameters are set with configuration software developed by VAHLE. All drive parameters and the associated vehicle number are stored in an easily accessible data plug. In case of maintenance or a fault, this structure allows the system to be replaced quickly without re-parameterization.
In addition, the electronic magnetic-field sensor used as a magnetic signal detector on handling systems works integrated with the control unit, detecting the direction of travel and magnet polarity. The integrated graphic display clearly shows operating status and fault information. A specially developed infrared (IR) remote control is also available for installation and simple diagnostics.
Optional components include curve-block control (to keep a safe following distance on curves) and section control (to separate different travel zones and prevent voltage carry-over on the line). Used together with VAHLE Power Transmission, Positioning and Data Communication Systems modules, the VCS1 control system can be offered as a fully integrated system solution.
