Contactless, Wear-Free and High-Precision Positioning Solution
Automated conveyor systems are becoming ever more common in in-plant material flow, offering cost advantages, space efficiency and high-speed capacity. To sustain this efficiency, vehicles and carriers must be positioned with millimetre precision.
The VAHLE APOS Contactless Magnetic Positioning Systems offer a wear-free, maintenance-free solution that needs no mechanical contact for position detection. Working on a magnetic code band, the reading head moves contactlessly along the code strip on the guide rail. This technology achieves high positional accuracy while significantly extending system life.
The system can operate integrated with VAHLE MKH or KBH conductor systems, or be used as an independent housing unit. Thanks to absolute position measurement it requires no reference point — after a power failure or restart, the current position data is instantly available.
The magnetic sensing method provides full resistance to moisture, dust and changing light conditions. With years of global experience in magnetic positioning technology, VAHLE is an industry leader. The APOS system integrates with Power Transmission, Data Communication and Drive Control Systems modules to deliver a comprehensive system solution.
