VAHLE – Integrated Power and Data Transmission Solution for Electrified Monorail Systems

Electrified monorail systems (EMS) are proven overhead handling systems that enable long-distance transport in production processes. In these systems, vehicles move independently on their own carrier rails and can be controlled with high positional accuracy. If any vehicle fails, it can be easily removed from the system without affecting the others. The project-specific custom design of rail systems and carrier suspensions makes EMS extremely flexible, so they are widely used across many sectors — from automotive to logistics, from assembly lines to production automation.

Whatever the application, all systems share one common requirement: for reliable operation and maximum system availability, they need a high-performance power and data transmission infrastructure. To meet this need, VAHLE offers a specially developed, process-safe integrated system solution. At its core is the U10 insulated conductor rail system, which can be adapted to almost any line geometry. Together with the integrated SMGM (Slotted Microwave Guide – Mini) data communication system, the APOS Optic magnetic/optical positioning system and the VCS1 drive control unit, all components are supplied from a single source — BM Makina. This structure ensures full integration between power, data and control systems, delivering maximum reliability and continuity on production lines.
